Background
ESD’s UI Reemployment Service and Eligibility Assessment (RESEA) program prioritizes claimants who are:
- Most likely to exhaust their benefits and needing reemployment services
- Identified as unemployment compensation for former service members (UCX).
Once selected for an initial or subsequent RESEA appointment, the claimant is required to participate in all components of the RESEA program.
Claimants are systematically scheduled to participate with WorkSource staff in a one-on-one meeting with a WorkSource specialist. These appointments are scheduled, and the claimant is notified by letter of the date, time and location of these mandatory meetings. These appointments are set without regard to the claimant’s availability, transportation barriers or other factors.
If they cannot attend, the letter directs the claimant to call their assigned WorkSource center before a certain date to reschedule the appointment. If they don’t schedule an appointment, ESD sends them a questionnaire they must complete to explain why.
Reemployment Appointment Scheduler (RAS) (self-scheduler)
Starting July 22, 2019, RESEA claimants are able to schedule their mandatory RESEA WorkSource appointments themselves. The RAS system will generate the initial letter that is mailed by U.S. postal service. Claimants can also review the letter within the RAS system once they log in.
Claimants will be able to:
- Self-schedule the initial one-on-one and follow-up assessments, reschedule an existing appointment, and receive confirmations and reminders by email and/or text message.
- More easily obtain the help and services they need to become successfully employed.
- Take more ownership of their progress and become less likely to remain unemployed for a long time.
WorkSource staff will be able to:
- Spend more time with claimants to develop work plans, identify training and other support services, and locate job matches.
- Manage the calendar of available appointment times for their location.
- Record attendance and appointment completion.
- Manually schedule claimants who don’t have internet access or are unable to use a computer.
- Produce reports to track claimant check-in, use, trends, etc.
