Grants and contracts

The Grants Management Office is the unit responsible for developing and testing new initiatives and reforms to increase outcomes in the workforce development system. Part of that work includes negotiating and managing financial and performance outcomes in grants and contracts with the 12 Workforce Development Councils (WDCs) in Washington and various other partners. These grants and contracts include Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act (WIOA) Title 1 formula allocation grants, state awarded National Dislocated Worker Grants generally for disasters/emergencies and layoffs/major dislocations, and strategic initiatives funded by WIOA and other sources.
