Workforce Policy Team
The Workforce policy team serves as subject matter experts on policy matters pertaining to U.S. Department of Labor-funded programs affiliated with the WorkSource (one-stop) system as well as state-funded workforce programs administered by the Employment Security Department. We are charged with researching and analyzing federal and state laws, rules, and guidance. We develop and issue statewide policies and guidance that promote effective and cohesive program administration and compliance for our WorkSource (one-stop) system including all guidance impacting the state’s Local Workforce Development Boards (LWDB) in their WIOA oversight role. Our partners include external stakeholders, such as the Washington Workforce Association (WWA) and the Workforce Training and Education Coordinating Board (WTECB). We also collaborate internally with all ESD divisions to ensure compliance as part of a state-level administrative oversight team.
