WIT training
We're here to prepare you for WA Works and the new WorkSourceWA website. Learn about the training plan for go-live and beyond.
Updates from the training team
We're currently working on:
- Creating content.
- Setting up the Learning App.
- Testing the training sandbox.
- Working with our local support network for validation.
Training roadmap
Our priority is to make sure you are prepared for WA Works and the new WorkSourceWA website. As we build training materials, we will have a better idea of how much time you’ll need to prepare. Based on what we know now, we recommend planning for 20 to 60 hours of training if you’re in a customer-facing role.
Training methods
We'll provide training in a variety of methods to help you train the way you learn best. You'll build confidence with hands-on learning where you will:
- See: Watch videos, learn terms and understand the "why."
- Try: Follow along with guided activities to get familiar with actions.
- Do: Practice on your own in a training sandbox.
Super users will also provide local support along the way. After go-live, training materials and step-by-step guides will remain available. So, you can refresh your knowledge and skills anytime.
Training timeline
There are three cohorts based on learning style: self-paced, blended, and interpersonal learners. The cohort you are assigned to is determined by your local leadership.
In February, we will work with local liaisons to schedule each cohort. Cohorts will have staggered start dates. We'll share an updated timeline once scheduling is complete.
Here's what we know about the training timeline now:
-
January: Super Users begin training.
-
February: Scheduling begins.
-
Early March: Pre-requisites open and the first training cohort begins.
-
May 8: All training completed and super users prepare for go-live.
-
May 19: Go-live!
- After go-live: Training resources and the practice space will stay available.
