Quick overview

Apprenticeship Preview (also known as pre-apprenticeship) consists of courses and programs that provide work-ready education, employment support services and/or exposure to jobs in a particular industry sector.  Since the 1970’s, the State of Washington has led the nation in Pre-Apprenticeship by preparing candidates for the registered apprenticeship system. The emphasis of pre-apprenticeship has been in the construction industry, but is expanding to other industry sectors.

While the initial goal was to ensure diversity, this has been expanded to include work-ready preparation for all workforce candidates. Pre-apprenticeships connect apprenticeship programs with each other, with employers, as well as supportive agencies and the education system.
