Hello everyone and thanks for taking a few moments to read this Project Phoenix update.
Project planning in process
Debbie Spaulding, Phoenix Project Manager, has been hard at work during her second month on the project. She is putting tracking systems in place while pulling pieces together with our vendor for a full project plan. Once complete this will allow us to properly track progress and open issues.
Take a look at what else is going on.
ETO refresher training
Did you know that many ETO issues are resolved once users exit Chrome and use Internet Explorer? This is the kind of important information that will be shared at our ETO refresher training sessions from 2 -3 p.m. every Thursday starting Aug. 15. All ETO users are encouraged to sign up for the WorkSource System Support team’s ETO refresher training. Lynn Aue and Leah Jaggars answer common questions and review ETO functionality. You can find the session listings on the Staff Development calendar. Don’t worry if you can’t attend! They’ll post a recording of the session at the WPC website after each event.
User-readiness recordings are now available
If you’ve missed our user-readiness sessions, recordings of the June sessions are now available on the WPC website in the technology section. Here you can see what is in development for the new system. All of the videos are short and narrated. It is definitely worth a look.
We hear you: Closing ETO tickets
We’re up to 400 tickets closed since the start of the year! Of those, 155 were bugs, 153 were change requests, 55 were federal reporting tickets and the rest were miscellaneous tasks mostly related to interfaces. More than 60 were completed in July alone. (Big thank-you to everyone who has supported this work!)
Some of the places you will find changes:
- Case Notes History report
- Configuration changes for distance learning to help with new data entry
- O*NET codes for training services
Reports group forming
We all know reports are a big pain point in ETO, and quality reporting is a high priority in the successful launch of the new system.
Keeping a laser-focus on reporting, the team helping to make decisions for Project Phoenix is creating an eight member “reports” group. This group will advise the development team on requirements and prioritize the more than 170 requests from the field. The reports group is forming right now and includes members from many divisions and our partners in the system. We’re excited to see how they can help make your jobs easier.
If you have any questions on any of these topics or would like to provide feedback on the project, please contact Anne Goranson (agoranson@esd.wa.gov) from the project team.
